Okotoks Foodbank Association

Okotoks Food Bank opened in 1985. The clientele that are currently accessing our services include single parents, the working poor, seniors with low pension, residents on income support, people with mental illness or physical injuries or disabilities. Clientele also includes residents “in transition” such as those experiencing job loss or reduction in work hours, a recent family breakdown or other unexpected emergencies.

In 2012 every month 59 families visited the OFBA. In this year we gave out 139 Christmas Hampers, 63 Easter Hampers and 62 Thanksgiving Hampers. And in one year 2750 hours from 60 regular volunteers were needed to meet the needs in our community.
